Happy 18th Birthday OPC!

On 7 February 1991 The Original Poster Company Limited (OPC) was established. 

Today we are proud to have two of three founding directors still involved in the business - Simon Warren-Gash and David Mills.

The company started out life in rented offices in Sandycombe Road on the Kew/Richmond border advertising for franchisees in The Sunday Times.

In September of the same year, OPC recruited its first franchisee with a product offering of 30 greeting cards and 30 posters and in just under a year, grew the network to 34 franchisees, distributing products to over 2,000 outlets.In less than two years, this network had increased to 50 franchisees supplying over 4,000 outlets and in April 1993, OPC started international expansion when it sold its first territory in Europe.

In September 1993, OPC relocated to its very own offices - Victoria Villas, Richmond where, in the years that followed, the company grew from strength to strength.

Creative everyday, occasions and spring season ranges were introduced to the networks widening OPC's product offering and today, giftwrap and giftbags are included in this offering as well as a variety of display options for the retailer.

Protecting the environment is important to us and we actively source environmentally friendly product and suppliers.

The UK/Irish network now spans the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and Ireland with over 70 franchisees providing unparalleled service to their retailers at zero cost to the retailer. OPC's global presence includes greeting card franchise networks in the Americas, Western Europe, Australia, UK and Ireland making OPC the largest franchised distributor of greeting cards in the world.

Our Support Office now resides in its own premises in Walton on Thames, Surrey, where it has been since 2002. Within Elephant House in Walton there is a dedicated team comprising of Sales, Design, Operational, Financial and IT specialists all committed to providing our network with opportunities, innovative products and proven business systems.

Our warehouse, based in Isleworth is managed by a dedicated warehousing team working closely with the Support Office and our franchisees to ensure service excellence is provided to our franchisee network.

Today OPC supplies many thousands of retail outlets with its products via a worldwide network of franchisees.

We have a simple proven system, a culture of nurturing goodwill in relationships and a commitment to providing our network with proven sellers - that's been our business for the past 18 years and we're sticking to it!
